If you think the ASUS Eee PC can't handle your demands, think again. This tiny yet mean machine plays/streams YouTube videos faster than my 1GB RAM, 160G HDD, Intel Core2Duo processor-powered (and unfortunately Win XP infested) desktop... take note, this eeepc's RAM is just 512MB and it's SSD (at 4GB) is probably even smaller than your flash disk! I guess the secret is in the no-nonsense design. Linux is definitely lighter and more powerful than Windows. And because it's designed to run perfectly under minimum configuration, it is therefore a lot more stable and reliable. I love the hidden partition that's been created because it gives you a sense of security and pride that should anything go wrong, you'd always find a way to fix it.. :-)
